Developing web apps necessitate the use of proper tooling for a good developer experience, especially when working with monorepos. Monorepos tend to struggle when scaling, but with Turborepo, this problem is easier to deal with. In this talk, learn how to set up a monorepo for shared internal dependency management using Turborepo, a build system for JavaScript and TypeScript codebases.

ARCTOAD: An Educational Online Platform for Learning, Creating, and Publishing Games

The 2000s saw the rise of community and game platforms such as Newgrounds, Miniclip, and Y8. They ushered an era of online collaboration, fun, and sharing. This 2026, you will be introduced to a similar platform built by Chrysgel called ARCTOAD. ARCTOAD is a web-based collaborative community platform to empower creative individuals by providing a space for publishing and sharing their works from games to music. It includes Toad-Engine, a powerful 2D game engine offering beginner-friendly drag-and-drop block-style coding.

While not often mentioned as part of the national technology discourse, Eastern Visayas is slowly building a thriving tech industry that will solidify its place in the Philippines as a key center for growth, innovation, and progress. It has seen the rise of remote jobs and sprouting of tech communities which contribute to its ever growing tech ecosystem. Despite this progress, the region is still mired by infrastructure issues, inadequate job opportunities, and brain drain. In this panel discussion, we will hear from professionals their thoughts on the current tech ecosystem of Eastern Visayas, the challenges and obstacles facing the local tech scene, and the developments being forwarded to further the growth of Eastern Visayan tech.
